Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Assalamalaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatahu,

Here is a brief update on ICOR Masjid construction/upgrade work:

• IA the sprinkler work within the building will be completed next week
• The HVAC units are onsite now. Installation will be completed within next two weeks
• The electric poles for outside lighting will arrive on March 10
• The majority of the work related to shear wall and seismic retrofit have been completed
• The pluming work for the bathroom will start next week
• We are evaluating bids from roofing contractors for a temporary fix for the roof. There are some leakage that we are trying to fix and also there will be some roofing work associated with the installation of HVAC units. We are accepting bids for a permanent fix of the roof as well

In general we are on track to complete the Phase 1 construction work by the end of March 2011.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Assalamalaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatahu,

Alhamndulillah, we have started the ICOR Masjid improvement work as of December 19. Jazzakom Allah Khairan for all your support and duas. Many of you have extended your generous support for the sake of Allah’s house in a rather difficult economic environment.

Our ultimate goal is to prepare the entire building for the beneficial use of our community including bigger prayer areas for man and women, organized class rooms, and easier navigation and access to rest and wudu areas within the building, while in compliance with the City of Redmond safety and design code. Insha-Allah, the improvement work will be completed in two phases.

During the first phase, improvements such as fire sprinkler, HVAC, and lighting will be made to the units that we are using currently. The fire sprinklers will be installed in the entire building. We expect the Phase I work to be completed by the end of March and we will be able to start the Juma prayer at the ICOR Masjid at the end of the first phase. The second phase will include extending the HVAC to the entire building, re-arranging the interior space, install new bathrooms and a wudu area. We expect to start the second phase as soon as the first phase is complete.

We have completed the following tasks as of today:

• Completed excavation for running the fire water line from the parking lot to the building. Most of the pipe installation and refilling work are done and will be complete next week
• Procured a large portion of construction materials
• Several inspections by the City of Redmond on excavation, pipe layout, and power line layout. The inspectors were satisfied with the work.
• Developed the interior layout of the sprinkler system and submitted to the city for review. We expect to start working on the sprinkler system from next week.

This is your contribution in action for the benefit of our community. Considering the health and safety requirements during construction and for our overall safety, here are a few key dates for the use of the ICOR facility during construction:

• Sister’s prayer are and children access will be closed from now until March 25th 2011
• Starting Jan 15th 2011 brothers prayer are will move to Unit D-101
